Facing opposition
Even when it’s anticipated, rejection, threats, and persecution of any kind can be very discouraging. A group of our pastors teamed together to conduct some street rallies to share the Gospel in tribal villages; they intended to cover five villages during this outreach. They found no problems when preaching in the first two villages and praise God for great Kingdom success. However, as they were entering another village, some rebels followed them and gathered around them accompanied by radical Hindus from the next village. The opposition was strong, and the team was warned not to enter the village or try to preach the Gospel. They were not even allowed to worship in song in the presence of the village people.
Rather than allowing a dangerous situation to escalate, the team pulled back and began to pray while returning to their homes. These determined pastors continue to pray for the Holy Spirit to deal with these men who refused the Gospel message. There will be a right time, and they are trusting God for Him to open the doors for their return. Please join us as we pray with them for God to turn the hardened hearts into hearts of flesh, longing for a Savior they do not yet know. Pray for protection, and for strength to continue to stand firm in the face of opposition and know when to retreat and when to stand.
Thank you for your continued prayerful support of these dedicated pastors ministering in very challenging regions in Coastal Asia.
