UGANDA PRAYER POINTS
One Widow. One Pastor’s Wife. One Family. One Community.
Bridges International has found one way to make it possible for one Ugandan family to become self-sufficient with a sustainable program by creating Poultry Farms. As of the date of this post, fifteen families in the Tororo area have been blessed with the means to begin their own Poultry Farm. A one-time investment of $200 USD makes it possible to purchase everything necessary to get started, including chicks, shelter, feed, vitamins, immunizations, etc.
Our contact in Tororo contacts us when a family has been identified as a good candidate for the program. The $200 gift is sent to our trusted partner in Tororo, who appoints an overseer to assist and guide the beneficiary through the process of building her own Poultry Farm. Once everything is operational, regular visits by the project overseer encourage the recipient to remain actively involved in building her business, which is structured to provide nutrition and ultimately become a source of financial blessing to the struggling family. The initial investment is all it takes to change the course of a struggling family, making them a testimony to family, friends, and the community of the goodness of God.
Prayer Points
Join us as we pray that each family that has begun a Poultry Farm will use the gift as a witness of the boundless love of God at work in the “least of these”.
"The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’" (Matthew 25:40)Pray that new recipients of the program will use the gift wisely and become profitable, benefiting their family and community.
“The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.” (Proverbs 21:5)Pray for more partners to invest in this sustainable program. Pray for God’s blessing on every donor and that He is honored and glorified through each one’s desire to open their hearts for the poor, the widows, and the impoverished families.
”Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” (Proverbs 19:17)Pray that the children of beneficiaries will learn of God’s providential care and reliance on His provision. Pray for each child to become aware of the importance of personal and business integrity, as well as the benefits of dealing honestly with customers and community members.
“But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren. Never forget the day when you stood before the Lord your God at Mount Sinai, where he told me, Summon the people before me, and I will personally instruct them. Then they will learn to fear me as long as they live, and they will teach their children to fear me also.” (Deut 4:9-10)
