empowering widows
with poultry farms
We have Pastor Ruth Kahawa, Founder and President of Smile Africa Ministries, to thank for the opportunity to impact the lives of widows and pastors’ wives with hope for a better future, not just for them but for their families and communities.
A gift of $200 provides lasting dignity by funding all start-up costs for a complete poultry farm. This includes poultry, bedding, immunizations, vitamins, materials for a humble shelter, and more. Empowering one vulnerable widow or a pastor's wife with self-sufficiency and a sustainable source of food and income will remind her of God’s faithful provision every time she cooks an egg for her children.
several FAMILIES HAVE already BEEN BLESSED WITH POULTRY FARMS! BUT we can make a difference in more families with a modest investment.
Background: Pastor Ruth and the Smile Africa Ministries staff are fully engaged with members of the Tororo community in Uganda and beyond. She began decades ago with feeding programs for the Karamoja children who were found on the streets, without food or shelter, or an opportunity for an education. It wasn’t long until she was feeding more than 400 children daily, bathing them and receiving donations of new and used clothing for the children. When the opportunity for schooling the children became a reality, many of the children were provided a basic education at no cost. Everything has been done with the support of ministries such as Bridges International. We are honored to partner with Smile Africa to expand opportunities for sustainable projects such as the Poultry Farm Initiative in Tororo.
“I am so happy for the poultry and what I need to do for the chickens. My children are excited about the eggs and the feathers. We thank you and the Lord for His provision.”
